Embark on a gastronomic adventure with rendition of the timeless Solyanka soup. This robust concoction combines the allure of smoked and dried meats, the piquancy of sausages, and the crispness of vegetables, resulting in a delightful medley of flavors that promises to satisfy your palate.
Ingredients
- Smoked or dried ham (Meat)
- Boiled beef
- Dried sausage (Salami)
- Sausages
- Pickled cucumbers
- Carrots
- Onion
- Classic or sweet tomato sauce
- A small lemon
- Potatoes
- Olives (optional)
- Sour cream (optional)
Commence by slicing the meat, sausages into strips and grating the carrots using a coarse grater. Finely chop the onion, cut the cucumbers, and dice the potatoes into small cubes.
In a pan, stew the chopped onion until translucent. Add the meat, including the salami, and cook for a few minutes until it achieves a golden hue. Incorporate the grated carrots and sliced cucumbers, continuing to fry until the carrots attain a slight golden color. Introduce the tomato sauce and continue frying for a little longer.
In a separate pot, pour pre-boiled warm water (quantity depends on the portions). Transfer the contents of the pan into the pot, ensuring a thorough mix. Allow the mixture to come to a boil. Adjust the soup’s consistency by adding cold water as needed. Introduce the diced potatoes and simmer until they are tender. Season with salt according to taste.
Once the soup is ready, serve it hot with a slice of lemon and optionally, garnish with olives. For an extra touch, add a dollop of sour cream if desired.
